Maharashtra’s electricity distribution company, Mahavitaran, has introduced an Amnesty Scheme to provide relief to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers with outstanding electricity bills. Consumers whose connections have been permanently disconnected due to non-payment now have until March 31, 2025, to clear their dues under this scheme.
Key Benefits of the Amnesty Scheme
Under the scheme, consumers are exempt from paying interest and late payment charges. They only need to settle the principal amount of their electricity bills. Additionally, consumers can pay 30% upfront and the remaining 70% in six monthly installments, making the process more manageable.
