Nandurbar, Maharashtra – In a bold act of protest, residents of Nandurbar gathered in the city’s overflowing sewage drains, demanding urgent municipal intervention. For several days, citizens have raised concerns over the unbearable stench and uncollected sewage flooding the streets, but local authorities have failed to address the issue.
The demonstration, led by the Shri Ram Social Group, saw participants sitting in the drains while chanting slogans against the municipality’s failure to resolve ongoing sanitation problems. This follows previous attempts to highlight the issue through banners, only to have authorities file criminal charges for the unauthorized display.
The protest has grown in intensity as citizens now urge the local government to act swiftly to address the deteriorating conditions, including neglected roads, blocked drains, and an accumulation of waste. After the protest escalated, local police and senior municipal officers arrived at the scene. Despite efforts to calm the demonstrators, the protestors have made it clear that further action will be taken unless immediate solutions are provided.
