Nandurbar, India – Amol Subhash Chavan, a 32-year-old adventurer from Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district, has etched his name in history by successfully summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest freestanding peak at 19,341 feet. Chavan, who works as a marketing manager in Mumbai, unfurled the Indian tricolor atop the Tanzanian mountain, marking a triumphant milestone for Maharashtra’s adventure sports community.
Chavan, a seasoned trekker with over 70 expeditions across the Sahyadri, Kashmir, and Uttarakhand ranges, prepared rigorously for this feat. Last year, he completed the Everest Base Camp trek and recently finished the Tata Mumbai Marathon (42 km) in 5 hours and 16 minutes.
