Nandurbar: Ahead of Republic Day 2025, the Nandurbar district administration has appealed to all citizens to uphold the honor of the Indian National Flag. In a statement, District Collector Dr. Mittali Sethi emphasized that respecting the Tricolor is the duty of every citizen during national occasions like Republic Day (January 26), Maharashtra Day (May 1), and Independence Day (August 15).
Ban on Plastic Flags
The administration has issued strict guidelines prohibiting the use of plastic flags, citing their harmful environmental impact and the difficulty in their proper disposal. Citizens have been encouraged to use only paper flags, which are eco-friendly and easier to manage. The Maharashtra government’s General Administration Department has mandated this directive, warning of legal action against those who use or sell plastic flags.
Instructions for Institutions
Government, semi-government, and non-government organizations, local self-governing bodies, schools, colleges, and law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure the proper use of the National Flag.
Commitment to National Pride
Dr. Sethi reiterated that any form of disrespect toward the National Flag would invite strict legal consequences. She urged all citizens and institutions to adhere to these guidelines.
