Residents, friends, and family gathered on rooftops and open spaces to enjoy the festivities, with the DJ’s blaring beats creating an energetic atmosphere.

From the early hours of the morning at 5 am, the city was buzzing with kite enthusiasts as they started flying kites to the tune of loud music. By midnight, there was a canvas of kites of all colors. Several unfortunate incidents marred the joy of the festival. A seven-year-old boy died tragically after being injured by the rope of a nylon kite that was flying without following the rules. They are roaming around despite the rules due to this prohibited material. In Navapur, a sanitation worker was injured, while two women in the bypass area of ​​Nandurbar were also injured after kite strings got entangled. Nandurbar police, under the guidance of Inspector Amit Manel, increased patrols to check the sale and use of illegal nylon strings. The team conducted rooftop checks, which led to several actions being taken against the culprits.

Local resident Yusuf Khan Mohammad Khan Pathan took it upon himself to collect discarded kite strings from the roads and trees and collected over 20 kg of the material to prevent further injuries. His efforts to reduce the risk of accidents were widely appreciated.
