Maharashtra SSC and HSC Exams to Begin Early This Year, Results by May 15

Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education  has announced that the SSC (10th) and HSC (12th) board exams will begin earlier than usual this year. School Education Minister Dada Bhuse revealed on Friday that results for both exams are expected to be declared by May 15.

The HSC exams are set to commence on February 11, while the SSC  exams will start on February 21. The earlier schedule has been implemented to ensure a timely announcement of results, which will help students prepare for further education without delays, said Bhuse.

The minister made this announcement after a review meeting of the education department held at the state board’s Pune office. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, MSBSHSE Chairman Sharad Gosavi, and Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Rahul Rekhawar.

This new schedule aligns with the state government’s efforts to streamline the academic calendar and reduce delays in result declaration. By advancing the examination timeline, authorities aim to provide students with additional time to focus on competitive exams and college admissions.

Officials also emphasized the importance of ensuring a smooth and stress-free examination process. “All necessary arrangements are being made to conduct the exams efficiently and to announce results on time,” Bhuse assured.

The decision has been welcomed by many, as it minimizes the usual gap between examinations and result announcements. However, students and teachers have raised concerns about the reduced preparation time, urging the board to ensure adequate support for both academic and administrative processes.
