Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured in a shocking attack at his Bandra residence, prompting Mumbai Police to detain a suspect for questioning on Friday. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving Khan with multiple injuries and raising concerns about security in the high-profile area.
The suspect, believed to be a habitual criminal, climbed the building using the fire brigade ladder and entered the house through the bathroom window of Saif’s younger son Jeh’s room. According to police sources, the intruder met nurse Ariama Phillips, who was taking care of Jeh at the time. When the nurse resisted, the suspect attacked her with a sharp object.
CCTV footage from the house has helped police identify the suspect, who is believed to be a seasoned criminal.
The Mumbai Crime Branch has formed 20 teams to search for and nab the accused. A suspect who looks like the attacker has been spotted in Bandra and teams are searching several places for further information.
Saif’s wife Kareena, their two sons and three domestic workers were present in the house during the attack. Authorities have increased security in the area and are investigating the incident from various angles to ensure justice is served.
