Uddhav Sena to Suspend Leaders for Anti-Party Activities During Assembly Elections

Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena is set to take strict action against party leaders accused of working against the party’s interests during the recent Assembly elections. Party workers have lodged complaints with senior leaders, alleging that certain office-bearers supported rival candidates instead of Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) nominees.

Sources within the party have revealed that suspension proceedings will soon be initiated against these individuals. The leadership is determined not to provide another opportunity to those who betrayed the party’s cause. Additionally, the party is planning to establish fixed tenures for its current office-bearers to ensure accountability and performance.

The decision comes in the wake of the party’s underwhelming performance in key regions, including Mumbai and the Konkan belt. Despite expectations, Uddhav Sena failed to achieve significant success, with internal sabotage being identified as a major reason. Allegedly, some leaders worked in favor of candidates from the ruling Mahayuti alliance, undermining MVA’s efforts.

“Party workers have demanded action against those who betrayed the party by supporting Mahayuti candidates. The leadership is considering these demands seriously and will soon suspend such office-bearers. This step is necessary to ensure discipline and restore trust within the party,” a senior leader said.

The move is also seen as a part of Uddhav Thackeray’s broader strategy to strengthen the party’s internal structure and prepare for upcoming challenges. With Maharashtra politics heating up ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Shiv Sena is taking a firm stance to consolidate its support base and eliminate internal dissent.

This proactive measure aims to send a strong message to party members: loyalty and commitment to the party’s ideology and objectives remain non-negotiable.
