Heartbreaking Incident: 8-Year-Old Killed in Tragic Bus Accident in shahada

Shahada, Nandurbar, March 19, 2025 – In a heartbreaking incident at the Shahada bus stand, an eight-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being run over by a bus while waiting for his transport. The accident occurred when the driver of the Sakri ST bus, while reversing, accidentally struck the child, causing fatal injuries.

The young victim, identified as Rudra Harishchandra More, was waiting with his family at the Shahada bus station, hoping to board the Sakri bus (Registration No. MH 20 BL 3109) when the driver reversed the vehicle and hit him. Witnesses reported that the child sustained severe head injuries, and despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The incident has shocked both the local community and the boy’s grieving family. His parents, devastated by the tragedy, expressed their anguish and disbelief. Following the accident, the family immediately filed a police complaint. The police have now registered a case against both the bus driver, Hemant Patil, and the conductor, Mahendra Patil. The investigation is currently being handled by Sub-Inspector Chagan Chavan of Shahada Police Station.

Local residents, along with the family, have demanded accountability from the bus depot authorities. The victim’s relatives also pressed for the bus depot manager, Harish Bhoi, to take responsibility for the incident. There are calls for further action and greater safety measures at the bus stand to prevent such tragedies in the future.
